Jupiter, or the “King of Planets” as it is often called, is 86,881 miles wide and the 5th planet from the Sun. All of the other planets of our solar system could fit inside of Jupiter—that’s how big it is. It has two rings and many moons, the largest of which is Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, named by Gallileo in his discover of them in 1610. Jupiter is a gas giant, made mostly of Hydrogen and Helium. It spins much faster than Earth, a day on Jupiter is only 10 hours. Gravity is much more powerful on Jupiter, a person who weighs 100 pounds on Earth would weight 240 pounds on Jupiter—wow! A new spacecraft, Juno, left for Jupiter three years ago, and will reach Jupiter in 2016. It will spend its time orbiting the planet and using its specially crafted instruments to explore it’s atmosphere and the planet itself. One of the most famous qualities of Jupiter is the Great Red Spot, a storm that has been raging on for at least 300 years. The storm itself is twice the size of Earth. No one knows exactly what it is and why it started, or when it will end. Some days you might feel like you are on Jupiter, not enough time, everything’s heavy and there’s a storm that came out of nowhere and you don’t know when it will end. On days like that, you need to stop looking at your troubles, and start looking at Jesus. When you keep your eyes on your troubles, they tend to look bigger and bigger. When you keep your eyes on the truth in God’s Word—the Bible, things look better and better. Start surrounding yourself with Christian music, Christian television, your Christian friends. Go to church and start speaking scriptures that solve the problems you are having instead of just talking about the problems. Your problem may be King Jupiter Sized, but remember, God created the entire universe with His WORDS. So why don’t you say what He says about your situation and watch it create a better world for you and those you love! If you aren’t a Christian and would like to be, CLICK HERE and we’ll help you.
