Look for the super bright Jupiter high in the south around 7 or 8pm every night. It sets just after 2am. On the last day of December, Jupiter's Great Red Spot will cross Jupiter's central meridian at 6pm CST. For more about Jupiter, click here. Look for Venus in the southwest after midnight, it will get higher and higher through February. Look for Mercury, the messenger, just before sunrise really low in the southeast horizon. Look to the southeast this month for the brightest star (other than the sun) shining in our night sky, Sirius. It will shine 4 times brighter this month, so it should be easy to find! Have a blessed month! Dr. Rex
